Great post! Here are my experiences...

Craziest Question:
While this occurred during a college interview, not a job interview, I still have to include it because it's SO funny. The interviewer asked me about my community service experience and I explained that I worked on a farm for absued animals. She asked me which of the animals was my favorite--I responded that the mules were. Directly after that, she asked (I will NEVER forget this):

"If you owned a mule, what would you name it?"

Out of all the random things to ask! I think she was just trying to see how I would respond under pressure. I answered "Hannah," my grandmother's name, because it was the first name that came to mind. To this day, I have no idea why.

Worst mistake during an interview:
I would say interviewing with a ditzy affect would be the worst, i.e.: flipping your hair, using the words "like," "totally," or "cool," etc. I started a personal rule of always wearing my hair pulled back to interview, because I tend to play with my hair when I'm nervous and I didn't want to unconsciously start fiddling with it.
Wearing revealing or sexy clothing to an interview would be a big no-no as well.

Have I ever embellished my acheivments?
Nope. I'm a terrible liar so even if I wanted to, I'd never get away with it.

Crazy Interview Question: A friend of mine was asked, "Are you addicted to a positive attitude?" Now, he's an upbeat guy, but I think the word "addicted" takes it a bit far...

The worst thing you can do in an interview is bad mouth your last job. No one wants to hear how horrible your last boss was, how little you got paid, etc. The interviewer don't want that type of whiny, negative attitude in his/her company.

I think Hannah is a great name for a mule, Amy . . . Haha! That is definitely a weird conversation for an interview.

I agree about the worst mistakes, too. Wearing sexy clothes or acting ditzy are incredibly fast ways to get yourself out of a job. Also, whining! What a really good way to make an impression - something the potential new boss really wants to hear.

You need to pay close attention to your body language during an interview. Your mounth can be saying one thing and your body- the complete oppisite!
